Fall is Here!

I can’t remember the last time I pulled out my camera just to shoot for fun. Actually, I can, because my last shoot was still on the memory card and it was from spring! I love fall. It’s my favorite season by far and I love capturing the colors, so yesterday, not only did I…

Taylor & Spencer: Baby on the Way

Taylor and Spencer are expecting and I had the pleasure of photographing them a couple weeks ago! These two were total troopers and their patienceĀ  made for some gorgeous photos. I had a really difficult time picking favorites, because they were all so beautiful. Congrats, you two! Thank you for letting me capture this exciting…

Adam and Kate: The Proposal

I’ve been itching to get to these particular photos, because it’s just so damn cool to get to witness a couple’s proposal and I’m so grateful that Adam and Kate let me be a part of it. This is the first time I’ve shot a proposal and it was just so amazing! I’m so happy…

The Elder Family

My goodness I’ve been endlessly behind in posting photos. Please forgive my tardiness; I want to blame the holidays entirely. Photographing this sweet family was a challenge as we just struggled to find a time and place in Portland fall and then winter in which it wasn’t pouring down rain. I’d never done a truly…

The Clough Family

I had a lot of fun with the Cloughs! They’re a hilarious trio, I mean foursome (including the cat) with a lot of laughter and a lot of love. Little Elwood is the spit of his parents, both in curls and in sass, and I couldn’t love that more. Thanks for letting me capture your…

The Reed Family

Photographing The Reeds was so incredibly easy. This family is super easy-going, fun, and, let’s admit, really good-looking. I suspect a couple of the kids may have practiced their poses (and it shows!), but I think little Briya wins when it comes to sheer cuteness. They have a lot of energy, but a ton of…

Goodbye, Portland Summer

I love the change of seasons, the transitions. Once we’re full into a season, I’m whining about how I’m ready for the next one. It’s just more fun that way. I took these shots a few weeks ago, just when I was ready to tell summer to fuck off and welcome in fall with gusto.

Emily and Colin: Engaged!

Emily is my best friend at my day job and she’s easily one of my favorite people and. She and Colin have been together a thousand years and you can tell. They just so easy and goofy together and still crazy about each other, even after all these years. It was so much fun photographing…

The Hartford Family

It was such an honor to photograph the Hartford family! The weather gave us quite the challenge, but eventually the clouds parted and we captured a few magical moments of this very sweet family.

Spring Brings the Cherry Blossoms

Warm weather comes late to spring in Portland, but I do love the colorful bursts that are the Cherry Blossoms here. This tree is in our front yard and I’ve been wanting to photograph it for weeks now. I finally drug out the ol’ manual DSLR today and, while I totally forgot to adjust my…

Snow is A-Foot!

Last week, while on vacation in California, it snowed a foot or so in Portland, Oregon, which caused quite the kerfuffle in trying to get home. Regardless! I did manage to take a few shots once I’d recovered from the travel. I had to.I mean, rules are rules. We had some very impressive icicles and,…

LACMA: Modern Art Love

Yesterday, you saw my favorite part of LACMA, the Urban Light installation, now see some of my favorite shots of architecture and art throughout the rest of the museum. Of course, this is only a small sampling. You should definitely go if you have a chance and see the Warhols, the Pollocks, the Lichtensteins, etc….

Urban Light

I’ve shot this place numerous times and my favorite thing about it is that there’s always a new way to see it, from the light due to the time of day or to the weather to the many angles or if there are crowds or not. I can always find a new way of finding a gorgeous shot.

Portland So White…

…Because of snow! Yuk Yuk! It’s also funny because they are lots of white people here. Careful or you’ll miss us blending into the snowy landscape. Just look for the red Starbucks cups. Okay! Okay, enough bad humor. It snowed yesterday for the second time in a week, which is rare for rainy Portland. And,…

Farrell Family: Baby on the Way

My gorgeous cousin and her family is basically my biggest client, but I don’t mind it one bit because her family is such a hoot to capture! The zany, quirky moments are really my favorite to nab, if I’m fast enough to get them. And, since they have a third family member on the way,…

Views from Astoria

While in Astoria, Oregon a few weekends past, we went up to the Astoria column and these are the views from the base and top of the column. Simply gorgeous! //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Port of Astoria

I could’ve woken up to this view every day. //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Astoria Megler Bridge

I love bridges. I love the architecture and design and the engineering which I don’t understand. I love their utilitarian beauty. This beaute is between Astoria, OR and Washington and on of my faves. PS still playing with that lens here šŸ™‚ //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Long Beach, Washington

This is a gorgeous, quiet beach which you can drive right on to! Pretty cool and, as you can imagine, my favorite thing to do is walk long stretches taking photos. The trick is keeping my windswept hair out of the frame!

Rain Drops on Windows

Just a few of my favorite things… //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js
