Long Beach, Washington

This is a gorgeous, quiet beach which you can drive right on to! Pretty cool and, as you can imagine, my favorite thing to do is walk long stretches taking photos. The trick is keeping my windswept hair out of the frame!

Rain Drops on Windows

Just a few of my favorite things… //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

My Neighborhood

This post is a bit of playtime for me. A friend lent me a wide-angle lens for my Olympus to try (with the intent to sell) and this was the first time I tried it out, just walking around my neighborhood. What do you think? Should I buy it? More photos with that lens coming…

Almost Christmas Snow

It snowed hard in Portland last week (just past Christmas) for just a few hours and then promptly turned to icy slush, being Portland. But I was able to get out and take a walk in the fat flakes and get some shots of the snow and ice. I like that it doesn’t snow in…

Stacey and AD Farrell

Yes, more photos of my family! Since I didn’t get to do an engagement shoot with these two back before they wed, this was a good opportunity to do a few cutesy couples shots. //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

The Farrell Family

I had the awesome opportunity this Thanksgiving to take photos of my cousin’s gorgeous family and, unlike I’ve done with any photos I’ve taken since May, I’ve actually uploaded them for you here! Please enjoy the lovely blondes and the curls and the Seattle skyline. //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Cherry Tree

I’m pretty sure this beauty is a Cherry Tree, but please, smart people, correct me if not. You can find these trees all over Portland in varying shades of pink and white, blossoms exploding all over the place, raining pastel onto the streets, roofs, and cars. It’s one of my favorite things about this city….

The Neighbor’s House

Just one shot today – of my neighbor’s perfect house reflected in a puddle in my driveway. Everything is perfect  from the lawn to each tree and plant and flower, made all the more interesting because my neighbor is an aging biker who lives alone. It’s like Jax Teller got old and got really interested…

Iggy following me

You’ve met Iggy by now I’m sure. Iggy loves to be outside and, sometimes, when I’m shooting, he’ll follow me around. But he hates having his picture taken, so I have to be sneaky when pointing the lens his way.   As a reminder, if you like my work and want to see more, you…

Raindrops on Portland

We had an unusually sunny winter and spring has marched in with some much-needed rain (despite how much we’ve all enjoyed the sunshine). These are all around my yard and house, taken with a few different lenses. Enjoy!   As a reminder, if you like my work and want to see more, you can find…

Japanese Maple

This gorgeous tree is in our front yard and has just begun to leaf and the shock of red I see when I get home every day is just lovely to see. I shot this series with two different lenses, a fixed macro lens and a digital zoom lens. I thought I’d prefer the results…

In My Backyard

Portland is confused and thinks it’s spring already and has been blooming like crazy! These shots are of a tree in my backyard. I went out there in the early evening and the light was just scrumptious. You can see the light changing through the shots and it was almost gone by the end. It…

Saturday Morning

It’s been unseasonably sunny quite a bit lately and makes waking up to the light in my house this morning too gorgeous to resist.

Little Miss Hattie Part 2

You may remember I posted some adorable shots of my cousin’s little girl Hattie a couple of Thanksgivings ago. Well, she’s now almost 3 years old and we had some fun walking around a park in Portland a couple of weekends ago. She’s just as wild as ever with the curls to match. What a…

Wedding: Sean and Rachel

A few weeks ago, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to the Colorado mountains and shoot the wedding of a very dear friend and her very great groom. And what a fun wedding it was! The setting was gorgeous, the wedding party was all children, and everyone was equal parts silly and sweet. I…

Sweet Little Buttercup

This is my cousin’s adorable rescue dog Buttercup. She’ll love you within an inch of your life and I’m pretty sure this is the most still I’ve ever seen her. And isn’t she just gorgeous in that light?

Around Downtown Portland

I don’t always take photos of flowers and cats. Sometimes I love me some architecture and a clear winter day in downtown Portland is especially lovely. The light gradients in some of these shots absolutely slays me.

Little Miss Hattie

This is my cousin’s adorable and utterly precocious little girl. She’s 16 months old with enough energy for 6 kids. In other words, the cutest.

In case we haven’t fawned over my boy enough lately.
